What are Solfeggio frequencies?

A short, honest guide — what they are, where they come from, and how to try them for yourself.

The Solfeggio frequencies are a set of musical tones rooted in the medieval solfège system once used in vocal training. The set most people refer to today is 396, 417, 528, 639, 741 and 852 Hz, often expanded with three more — 174, 285 and 963 Hz.

In sound and meditation traditions, each frequency is associated with a particular feeling or intention — from grounding and letting go, to connection, focus and calm. Many people worldwide report that listening to or meditating with these tones helps them relax, settle their mind, or set an intention.

These associations come from tradition and personal experience — how the tones are described and perceived. They are not medical claims, and HZP is not a medical device. See our disclaimer.

What about 432 Hz?

432 Hz isn’t strictly a Solfeggio frequency, but it’s the one HZP listeners ask for most. It’s an alternative tuning standard — slightly lower than the modern 440 Hz default — that many people describe as warmer, rounder and more natural. Compare 440 Hz and 432 Hz →
